Most of the ingredients below can all be purchased online but it is usually more cost effective (and tasty!) to dehydrate things yourself.
Tools Required: Larger camp saucepan for two.
- 1/4 cup dried ground beef
- 1/4 cup dried sausage
- 2 tablespoon dried onions
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 2 tablespoon tomato powder
- 2 tablespoons dried tomato sauce or more tomato powder
- dried cheese to taste (optional)
Measure and add all ingredients to your lightweight container of choice. When you are at your campsite, mix the contents of the bag with enough water to cover all the ingredients. Simmer over your heat source until everything is rehydrated, adding water if needed. Meanwhile, cook your pasta. The sauce is done when the ground beef and sausage are soft.
